Paco is the sweetest little creature you could imagine. But he is very naughty. He belongs to the order of Maximus Fluffiness. He arrived at my house as a three-day-early birthday gift on June 19th 2004. This is a picture of him right after he arrived, and immediately before he peed on my couch. Luckily, he has since gained very good litter box habits.

Paco is a Netherland Dwarf bunny. As you can see, he is brown. He has a white stomach and a little fluffy white tail. I'm not sure how old he is but he was teeny when I first got him, so I guess he must be pretty young. He is a house rabbit, which means he lives inside, not out, and he is free to move about the apartment as he wishes.

Paco has very beautiful, wise brown eyes.

Some things Paco enjoys include:

Lying on his blankie, napping, relaxing, chewing buttons off clothing, climbing on the couch, eating, digging holes, hopping, running around the apartment like crazy and sliding across the hardwood floors, sitting behind the toilet, grooming meticulously for many hours, playing "chase the bunny", ignoring me when I call him, staying informed about events in the apartment, chewing various things he shouldn't.

If Paco had a day planner, his schedule might look something like this:

A lot of people think that Paco is a rodent, but in fact, this is not the case. He is a lagomorph - Any of various plant-eating mammals having fully furred feet and two pairs of upper incisors and belonging to the order Lagomorpha, which includes the rabbits, hares, and pikas. In addition, lagomorphs have the ability to lie with their back legs stretched out behind them, and rodents don't. According to an article in Rabbits USA magazine, DNA analysis shows that lagomorphs are more closely related to primates than to rodents! Also, all rabbits are hind gut fermenters and strict herbivores, whereas this is not true of all rodents. So, that is my little lesson for you all today.

Update 7.14.04
Today, Paco ate the 6 off my remote control.

Update 7.28.04
As you can see, Paco has matured into a very handsome rabbit.

I hope to have some movies here at some point, check back soon.
